"So you’re saying you don’t know?" Solenne asked. "How could that be?"
Feeling the intense pressure, Alcetas bowed lower, his face practically hitting the floor.
"We looked all over... but the man going by the name of Alvares does not exist," Alcetas said. "We’ve looked through all our controlled areas, and even searched for his wife, but there is no record or even a trace of anyone connected to Alvares D. Thalorin Vandemar Kestelrune III, Grand Archivist of the Lust Cult, Last Warden of the Black Mire Prison, Bearer of the Holy Sword Excalibur, Keeper of the Ancient Scrolls, Exile of the Heaven realm, Survivor of Heaven’s wrath, and supposed father to two beautiful dragon daughters."
Solenne slammed her fist down onto her armrest, shattering it.
"How hard is it to find one person!?" Solenne yelled. "We have the greatest information network in this universe!"
"Miss Solenne..." Alene called out, her voice cracking. "You told us the man’s name, but... doesn’t it seem fake?"
Solenne’s brows twitched. "Are you assuming I am spouting lies?"
"I’m just saying there’s always a possibility you are being tricked," Alene replied, not backing down.
She met Solenne’s gaze with a resolute look, then spoke. "We looked for nearly three months. There’s no trace of that man anywhere."
"The Lust Cult is composed entirely of women, and there’s no such thing as Black Mire Prison. The Holy Sword Excalibur is just a shabby toy that all of us could break with a single tap of our fingers. For that to be a part of his title, it doesn’t add up..."
