She glared at him fiercely, causing him to let out a sigh.
"If you're going to make this difficult, then you'll end up just like your soldiers."
"You killed them... why...?" Caedia muttered, causing his brows to furrow.
"I'm not a Saint, and I was attacked first for no reason." Rael glanced toward the city, noticing a bit of smoke rising. "But my guess is, you're not exactly from around here, are you?"
She had a weird accent, and her skin was slightly more toned than the rest of the people he had seen in this land.
Aside from Karnyx and the Frostpire Bastion, there was still Halcyra to the west, Volkrath and Kurozan to the north.
They had ships, meaning they could get over to this side, so naturally...
"Did you invade this city?" Rael asked flatly.
Instead of replying, she looked to the ground, trying her best to hide her expression.
"..." Rael was getting tired of her antics, so he turned to Seryn. "If you don't mind, could you take a look around inside the city? There should be a coast to the left—check if there's a ship."
"I'm not your errand boy, but since I did say I would be exploring, I'll do it," Seryn stated as he shot both the Empress and Rael one final glance. "I'll be back in a bit."
Rael waved him off and crouched down, his face meeting hers.
