On stage, the assembled orchestra of instrumentalists readied themselves to begin playing. Their instruments gleamed under the soft glow of the moonlight. As Alix walked onto the stage, the moonlight traveled, following her like a shadow.
The hidden assassin that infiltrated the orchestra moved stealthily, using the violin as a cover and flicked a small poisoned needle towards Alix.
It didn’t prick her body as expected but met an invisible barrier and turned into dust. A man behind that assassin stabbed her neck with an translucent injection that had a red liquid and in the darkness, she was moved away. Another person took her place quickly.
There was no ordinary person on this orchestra, they had all been arranged by the captain as part of the operation. They were hidden system hosts from around the round, with many talents, working as spies in different organizations.
None of them was wearing their true face out, they all had human masks on. To hide their actions, they started playing their instruments immediately.
Behind them, a screen came to life with the help of hologram technology which Alix had also borrowed from the city. It showed a living green planet, plagiarized from the fifth world.
A slow piano melody seduced the eardrums of the audience and everyone sat up straighter. Soft light fell on the piano players, two women.
Just as quickly, it moved to Alix who started playing her violin, changing the tempo of the flow. She started off aggressively, like a soldier heading to war. The backdrop changed as well from a beautiful planet to a land of horrors with images of erupting volcanoes cracking land, awakening monsters.
The audience was shocked, what was this setting? Normal violin or classic music concerts were not like this. Alix increased the speed of her playing and the musical orchids begun to glow but rather than the soft yellow glow which they were aware of, they glowed an eerie red.
