Zhang Lei reacted exactly as Lexian wanted her to do. She knew that her aunt was still bitter about Alix refusing to give her any benefits.
All through the holiday Alix’s name had been in her mouth despite other relatives telling to her to drop the matter. When she didn’t, they decided to ignore her. Just like now, she had been badmouthing Alix but nobody was responding.
On hearing the news about the shares, she exploded with rage.
"What? Why would father do that? How can she be getting benefits from us without returning the favor? What has she brought into our Zhang family from her maternal home?"
She picked up the tray which had a cup of extremely hot coffee and marched in the direction of the living room. Lexian smirked victoriously, Alix would not walk all over them just because she had managed to get pregnant. Which woman could not do such a simple thing? It was just matter of being intimate with a man.What was there for her to be so proud of?
Zhang Panpan, one of the girls from the second branch could see through Zhang Lexian however. "Lexian, what are you doing?"
Zhang Lexian shrugged and pretended that she had no idea what Panpan meant.
"You are inciting her deliberately so that she go after sister Alix. Are you holding grudge because she didn’t give you a car or gift? You offended her first and made an enemy out of her when you were one of the first people in the family she extended kindness to. It’s not too late to mend the relationship, instead of acting like this, just apologize. Sister Alix is kind, she will forgive you and bury the hatchet immediately. We are all family, there is no eternal enmity when it comes to family."
