Chapter 32: Don’t Call Me Hubby
Shi Mei’s large, dark eyes were red, her lips pursed as if she refused to let her tears fall, the very picture of a wronged young bride.
Elder Shi: "Shi Mei, why don’t you go take a shower, Xiao Chen."
"Eh," Nanny Aunt Chen quickly approached, taking Shi Mei by the hand, "Madam, let me take you to bathe."
Reluctant, Shi Mei cast a look at Elder Shi then at Shi Lingyan, who clearly held much contempt for her, and finally nodded her head in agreement.
But how could she let Aunt Chen see the marks of last night’s frenzy that were still on her body?
Half-pretending to be crazy and foolish, she shooed Aunt Chen out and took a chaotic shower by herself, making sure to leave the bathroom in disarray before she emerged.
She wore her clothes in a deliberately messy fashion, eliciting a compassionate yet chuckling expression from Aunt Chen as she helped her get dressed properly. After bringing her to Shi Lingyan’s room, Aunt Chen quickly left.
Shi Lingyan’s room, like him, was monochrome, with nothing but the essential furniture, devoid of any other belongings.
