Chapter 10: Forget about Shi Mei
Apparently sensing that her presence had been discovered, the girl sitting on the carpet looked up, a bulky hat obscuring half of her face, revealing only one eye and the lower half of her face.
Upon seeing Shi Lingyan, the girl with the clear, sparkling features broke into a silly, goofy grin, showing her white, clean teeth.
The only eye that was exposed shone like a crystal lamp, improbably bright, with a purity that was too clear, making Shi Lingyan feel it incongruous with the object she clutched in her hands.
Yun Du said something on the other side, but Shi Lingyan didn't hear it at all, only replying, "Have Tang Jingming come over."
The incessantly babbling Yun Du was flustered, "What?"
However, the call was abruptly ended.
Shi Lingyan set his phone aside, crouched down, snatched the object from Shi Mei's hands, and tossed it casually into the trash can.
Seeing this, Shi Mei's mouth puckered, her large eyes welling with moisture, looking at him with an aggrieved expression.
Shi Lingyan, with a headache coming on, stood up and, with some impatience, lifted her by the broad hat on her back, saying, "Get out."
