"The phone," he blurted out, turning to her sharply. "Did you take it with you?"
Sophia stiffened at his words, her heart skipping a beat as she processed his question. The urgency in his voice sent a chill down her spine.
She had no idea why—but she knew, whatever it was, it mattered more than she had realized.
Jude’s voice cut through the air the moment he suddenly realized the gravity of the situation. His sharp tone made Sophia instinctively lower her gaze, following his words to the subject of discussion. And then, in that split second, the realization hit her like a wave—she had lost the phone.
Her heart clenched as she slowly lifted her head, her eyes locking onto Jude’s. A deep breath steadied her, and then, with an almost serene calmness, she shook her head.
"No... I must have left it behind," she admitted softly.

"Thankfully, you lost it. That phone is the only thing Arthur could have used to track you," Jude stated firmly, his eyes searching hers for understanding.
