Chapter 67: A conversation with you...
"However, when it comes to her relationship with Tryson Bliss, there may be more to the story than meets the eye. It’s possible that there were things Angel chose not to share with me... things she kept to herself, even as my employee." Arthur said bluntly, his gaze steady.
Just then, another journalist stepped forward, seizing the moment to ask, "Sir, reports have surfaced that Tryson Bliss is set to marry Angel Johnson. Is there any chance you met her before or after their engagement?"
Arthur let out a deep breath, his expression unreadable.
Then, with deliberate emphasis, he replied, "As you all know, Angel was an employee of mine long before she even crossed paths with Tryson. Her engagement to him? That was just as much a surprise to me as it was to everyone else. But let me be clear—before she ever got engaged to Tryson Bliss, she was with me first."
Another reporter stepped forward, voice sharp with curiosity. "Sir, are you saying that the claims labeling Angel as a gold digger and a liar are actually true?"
Arthur felt a surge of frustration at the question, but instead of letting his anger show, he threw his head back and let out a laugh—a calculated move to appear unfazed.
He masked his irritation with a feigned air of amusement, as if the very idea was too absurd to take seriously.
If he ever found himself in a situation like this again, he would make sure to get a list of the questions beforehand. That way, he could prepare answers that aligned perfectly with his rehearsed statements.
But right now, he had to stick to the plan.
