Chapter 28: Just herself
"If it’s truly urgent, you can go ahead and answer the call," Tryson suggested to Angel, noticing her hesitation as she looked at him.
Just as she was lost in her thoughts, the phone rang once more. At this point, Tryson began to grow suspicious of the call, observing Angel’s increasing reluctance.
"I’ll go ahead and take the call," Angel remarked, realizing that Arthur would only persist in calling for a longer period if she didn’t pick up.
Internally, she found herself nibbling on her lips, a mix of guilt and awkwardness washing over her as she concealed the fact that Arthur was on the line.
For goodness’ sake—this was such a prime opportunity for her to handle the situation with Tryson.
Yet, she felt it would be best to have a conversation with Arthur without letting Tryson become aware of it.
Tryson nodded, showing he understood, and at that precise moment, Angel left the room to take a phone call, allowing Tryson to carry on his conversation with Kelvin.
"Hello," Angel greeted Arthur as she answered the call, pausing as if waiting for him to reply.
"Angel, I’m currently at the estate corresponding to the address you provided for delivering the bouquet of flowers. I need your permission to enter," Arthur stated with composure, and at that instant, she was taken aback.
"Arthur, what made you choose to come in person? Didn’t you say you were planning to have someone else handle the delivery?" Angel responded, with her voice clearly reflecting her surprise.
"I did mention that, but then I found myself constantly thinking about you. I simply wanted to ensure that you were alright, which is why I decided to come by on my own," Arthur explained to her.
