Chapter 254: Rey
This hour was already past most people’s rest time, leaving the streets bathed in silence with only the rustling wind scraping by. It was not the most comfortable sound but as the two of them walked from the police station to Arlen’s house to pick some more clothes, the sound brought a sense of peacefulness to the two of them.
A loud beep sounded and Ravi reached for his phone, opening the message that had a picture attached. It was from Sage.
’The Last portion of Cucumber Salad. You are planning to eat with the Captain so you don’t want this, right?’ There was a bit of spicy cucumber salad in the bowl.
Before he could type a message, another one entered, "According to the magazines, at 18 years, a man needs as much substance as possible."
Ravi chuckled, causing Arlen to lean over to read the messages.
"Sage?"
"Who else?"
’You can have the salad. There is more soup in the freezer. Make some rice if you are hungry.’
After typing, he returned his phone to his pocket and looked at Arlen who reached out to hold his hand. The street lamps kept their watch on the side of the street, spreading a layer of pale warmth on the road beneath their feet.
