Chapter 243: Lisa goes home
Lisa wanted to throw up, the expression of the man in front of her had completely changed. No, it was not just the expression; he did not look like the same man that she had fallen for.
There was no trace of kindness or gentleness left on his face. He laughed cruelly. It was as if an ancient evil had been resurrected, a mouthful of blood and devouring goodwill wherever he went.
"Get on your knees, put your hands behind your head." Her hands shook as she held the gun but she gritted her teeth, trying to keep it steady. Her stomach churned. It was like the grim from this person was crawling up her skin, she wanted to use a scrubbing brush and wash herself.
"Lili! You are overthinking all these. I am sure there is a reasonable explanation for all these coincidences. Someone is setting me up." His face was cold and expressionless like a wooden doll, the moment she bombarded him with all her questions and suspicions, his face had lost any kind of warmth. However, his voice was gentle as ever, bringing a terrible kind of eerie feeling.
"Shut up! Don’t you dare? Don’t you dare call me that?" Lisa’s voice broke and she raised her unarmed hand to use her ability.
"Eth...Ethan Kim, you are under arrest for Murder."
Ethan froze up for a second and slumped to the ground. His entire body stiffened and he fell to the ground.
Lisa rushed towards him, using all the training in her police academy years to remain calm; she turned him over and held both of his hands together. Two minutes, her ability could last only two minutes, and even then, it would leave her tired. She started to reach for her handcuffs to loop around his wrists and she reached for her handcuffs when she froze, her eyes blanking for a while.
She stood up and walked out of the living room, opening the door and heading downstairs. By the time, Lisa left the elevator, light returned to her eyes.
