Chapter 224: Alstria
Ravi sat in the passenger’s seat next to Draco, enjoying the slight grimace of Arlen’s face as he sat in the back seat. He did not like it, sitting in the back seat all alone but before he had even come down from the steps of the building, Draco had already run forward and opened the door. As conscientious as ever.
Ravi’s lips twitched and he looked forward, acting like he did not see what was happening in the mirror. A minute later, Arlen’s work phone rang and he picked it up.
"Davenport Police Bureau. Yes. Getting a warrant is not the problem...
Ravi soon stopped listening to the call and looked at his fingers for a second before he looked at the window. The familiar roads appeared in his eyes, just left and straight, it would be the road to the Bayside Academy but that was not the route that Draco took. They were heading straight into the town.
Alstria was a big town with seven districts, one of the districts, Bega, was the place where Mary Taylor and the mystery man had visited a lot. He turned to look at Draco whose tense hands were holding the steering wheel and he sighed.
It was not just Arlen, there was a tension in the office that was spreading because of this case. It came mostly from the fact that they did not have enough information about this case, whether was it one person or a group, a man or a woman, the time of the crime, the location of the captive crime scene, and even the motive of the murder.
Although Lisa had already made up her mind they were dealing with a sociopathic psycho serial killer.
It was like they were in a fog, holding a lamp in their hand but still unable to see what lay ahead. But what this lead that they were pursuing looked promising. If the restaurant did not bear any result, there were still the luxury stores that Mary had visited, surely one of them would have this mystery man she was dating in the footage.
No matter how good a person is, there would be little traces. No killer is infallible, just officers who are not persistent enough.
