Chapter 201: A favour
"Good morning, students. Welcome to the Bayside Academy 56th entrance examination. Our school offers a rigorous academic program, cutting-edge resources and a supportive community that celebrates individuality and promotes social impact. We, the staff of Bayside, would do everything for your growth. We wish you luck and success in this examination."
The image of a man in his late sixties appeared on the projection, his voice clear and sonorous as he bowed deeply before vanishing.
Ravi wanted to shake his head at all this fuss over the entrance examination. In his time, the only thing you had to submit was your birth certificate and yet not every student even had that. You could not compare though, his school was a down-down-throdded government school and this was a public school that even served the aspirants tea and cake before the examination.
The environment was making Arlen nervous and he did not want to eat anything on the table, except drinking a bit of water. Ravi drank the mint and lemon tea calmly, noting how the temperature of the tea remained hot no matter how much time had passed. They were not joking about cutting resources.
"You can listen to some music with your phone if you are feeling nervous."
Asher looked back at him, quiet for a few seconds, "I left the phone at home."
Ravi blinked in disbelief, "You left it at home. Why?"
"It is expensive. I did not want to lose it. Ravi, don’t be angry." His eyes moved to the left and right before brightening, "If you scold me right before my exams, I might..."
Ravi was speechless, "Just who taught this child how to be cunning because he definitely did not learn it from him. He took a deep breath, "Ash, the phone was for to contact me. Do you see how large this school is, let’s say you go somewhere else for your exam and parents are not allowed it, how can I call you? I bought it for you to use it not to keep it like it is a piece of painting. Okay?"
