I Am Tired Of Being A Hero

Chapter 169: The smile that never left

"I believed you. They would not even see it coming." Ravi added, indulging him.

Asher nodded and smiled before the smile disappeared and he turned to face Ravi a little nervous.

"What is it?" Ravi said, looking at him.

"Are you the one that killed them?"

The voice that asked with a bit of a soft and cautious Ravi looked at him and he couldn’t tell what he was thinking.

His hands were soaked with blood. The people he had killed yesterday were not even enough to be a fraction of the amount of lives that Ravi had directly or indirectly taken in his life.

This was something he kept in his heart, something he would never, never let anyone know. Especially Asher and Arlen.

Seeing that he had responded, Asher looked down, "I am sorry. I should not have asked"

"You did not do anything wrong. Yesterday, it was a friend of mine. I called in a favor." He did not like lies and in particular, never cared enough to lie, but the way the words left his mouth so effortlessly struck a nerve in his stomach.

Technically, it was his Sentinel self so it was not really him, it was not Asher’s guardian or Arlen’s boyfriend who committed the murders the news was talking about. When he thought about it like this, it made him relax a bit and he nodded.

Asher suddenly hugged him around the waist, making his eyes widen for a second, his Adam’s apple bobbing slightly.
