I Am Tired Of Being A Hero

Chapter 134: Poison Ivy

It was understandable how much withdrawn Asher was during the day. He claimed that it was a nightmare and he asked Ravi to forget everything that happened last night. It was as if all the progress they had made since he carried the cat back home had disappeared.

He did his chores and ate his breakfast methodically but that light of living life had completely disappeared and Ravi did not know what to do.

"I will protect you. No one would harm you." Seemed overused, Asher did not believe it and it was not like he was legally responsible for Asher, according to their deal, he could leave anytime. The thought made him feel like there was a sour taste on his lips, it felt a lot like frustration.

Frustration, huh?

He patted the head of the child who was sitting on the sofa and headed outside.

"You can come in through the front gate, you don’t need to jump over the fence anymore," Ravi said when he saw the young woman hanging off the fence. She stretched her hand and green vines sprouted from them, creating a bed and she landed on it.

Her face was colder than usual, her green hair was packed into a bun and she wore a wired glass. Ravi moved closer and took a sniff of the red spots on her white lab coat.

"Sower."

Lana dusted her lab coat habitually, "Who knew there were a few sowers left over in the Nest in Harlan? I did a few experiments on them." She grinned, there was a crazy light in her steel-like eyes, "I am still running a few tests but I think the results would be something farmers like you would be extremely interested in."

Ravi cocked his head, "Those Sowers, he had been leaving them for a reason, for them to grow much larger so he could clean them up. Something a farmer like him could be interested in, "Oh!" He said lightly, "Is it that they aid crops in growing larger and faster."

Lana’s jaw slackened in disbelief, it had been something she had been working on, all day and all night, hardly eating, never leaving her lab and this person had already discovered it. She looked around, it made sense while his farm had been so bountiful when she came here, last time in February. None of the crops were growing in their natural time, their growth had all been accelerated, she had experimented with a few crops in her lab but you can compare it to this farm.
