Chapter 57: They all vanished
The coffee had already grown cold, Ravi thought as he entered the alley. Well, it was not bad to have an iced coffee to start the day. When it came to manipulating atoms, it was always easier to heat, and combust than to cool. One had to be careful, or the item would freeze over, reaching zero.
He sipped the iced coffee and stopped. There were no footsteps, he concentrated more, he could not sense anybody. Ravi dissipated at that instant, reconstructing in the alley not far from the veterinary clinic.
Could the god have reached a bottleneck and sent his incarnation so that he would use him to cultivate and breakthrough? What happens to the incarnation, does he rejoin the god’s soul or is he discarded when everything is over?
Why was he thinking about this? He was not an overtly curious person, you could not be a curious person as a Sentinel so why was he curious now? He blinked and headed down to the Police Station.
He was going to be late today. 7:54 a.m. He could not make it no matter how much he tried right now, but Ravi still stubbornly tried, walking as fast as someone in a walking marathon in the Olympics.
When he reached the door and opened it, it was three minutes past 8 a.m.
He was late. Because of both the incarnation, Sage, and himself, only ten percent of the blame belonged to him.
Any second now...nothing.
There was nobody in the office. Ah! Did Lisa prank him? He furrowed his brows, it could not be.
