Chapter 44: A tour
One man and one cat walked down an alley, past an empty street, down the corner, and past another empty street before they stopped in front of a beautiful two-story building. The building was painted in a soft taupe paired with muted olive green, which gave it a cozy and inviting feature to it. Like the home of two lovers about to start a family, or the kind of home where a wealthy person finally discovers what truly matters.
"This is Home." He took out the keys and opened the gate.
There was a parking space just in front of the house but Ravi had no car so he had never used it. Rather, he made it a kind of extra relaxation place where he could drink wine or paint if he wanted to.
Right now, there are two paint containers by the side of the wildflower bush. An empty easel was hung up, Ravi had finished the painting that he had been working on for a few days. There was also a large outdoor sofa that he had gotten at a thrift sale. It was incredibly soft and the moment you sat on it, you would sink so deep, that all your troubles would be forgotten.
"Here is the living room." He opened the door for the cat to pass through, "You are my first guest."
His lips twitched, he really did not have to add that last part, "This is the remote. Touch here to change the channel." What was playing was not appropriate for children, he changed the crime drama to a cartoon, before pausing. Wasn’t it a cartoon for children?
Ravi sighed and took out his phone.
"What kind of movies do 13-year-old children like?" His eyebrows arched up. Nope. Not in this household. He scrolled a bit, before he found a channel and left it there. The cat was very quiet, if not that Ravi knew that there was someone following him, he would not even know that the cat was there.
"Here is the kitchen. I cook and bake here. That was what I was doing before I was called by the vet."
