"Unfillai daughter!" Third Madam Qiao slapped Qiao Nian.
Qiao Nian’s cheek stung and her eyes became watery. She looked up at her mother, shock and surprised in her round eyes. Her light curls had become messy and strayed across her shoulders and forehead.
"You caused the death of my son! The CEO of the Qiao Group and the family head! Now how are all of us going to survive?! Are you trying to slaughter and bring down the entire family?!" Third Madam Qiao grabbed her daughter by the collar and shook her wildly, almost choking Qiao Nian.
Before she could slap her again, a fair hand caught her wrist midair.
Third Madam Qiao turned and saw the person who stopped her from slapping Qiao Nian.
"Third Madam Qiao, we meet again. I believe you have no rights to hit your daughter," a female voice said arrogantly.
Qiao Nian turned and saw Qin Zhuzhu who pulled Third Madam Qiao’s fingers off her collar. Qin Zhuzhu released Third Madam Qiao’s wrist and then proceeded to stand between the mother and daughter.
Third Madam Qiao’s face turned ugly and she sneered, "Fancy meeting you here, Qin Zhuzhu. Why are you here? To interrupt me? This is my family’s issue. You have no rights in this matter,"
"Family’s issue? Then this is a friend’s issue. Ah Nian is my friend, naturally I will stand up to anyone who bullies her, including those who claimed to care for her but secretly use her as a pawn," Qin Zhuzhu’s eyes glared at Third Madam Qiao with confidence.
Those eyes..... Somehow they reminded her of that woman. Third Madam Qiao hated these types of eyes. So similar.
She scowled. "I don’t understand what you’re saying. Please step aside. I want to have a good talk with my daughter. She needs to face the consequences for causing the death of my son,"
