"Why are you looking at me like this?" Qiao Nian looked aggrieved. Qiao Tong scoffed at her, turning to Shentu Chu.

"That way, miss," Shentu Chu pointed down the streets.
Without saying another word, Qiao Tong dashed off where he pointed.
When she was gone, Qiao Nian turned to Shentu Chu. She felt like a heavy weight was lifted off her shoulders. Shentu Chu hid his mouth behind his hand, trying to hide his laughter. Qiao Tong seems stupid enough for him to trick her.
"You lied. That purse, you took it," Qiao Nian looked into his eyes, sounding like a teacher who caught the student doing something naughty.
"Of course I did. She deserves it for making trouble for you every time. I’m only helping you to vent some anger,"

"Nian Nian," Shentu Chu knelt down to her level. Qiao Nian was sitting on the chair. She almost fell off the chair when he said her name and stared at her.
"What is it?" She gulped nervously. Recently, Qiao Nian found herself gaining a weakness for his eyes. Those eyes seemed to be drawing her in, tempting her into the darkness.
"I want to ask you something," Shentu Chu said with all manner of seriousness.
