Butler Zhang was thrown into a pitch black place, no sound, no footsteps. Unable to make out what was going on, butler Zhang was so afraid that he could pee in his pants. He heard something scurried past him.
Then he heard footsteps, walking slowly towards him. Every footsteps seemed to hammer fear into his heart, thundering louder and louder as they approached him.
The bag was pulled off roughly, Butler Zhang squinted as his sight adjusted. He coughed out dust and surveyed his surroundings.
A man stood in front of him, his red suit standing out among the rows of muscular bodyguards in black. The man pulled down his dark sunglasses.
"M..master..." Butler Zhang shivered. He was forced to kneel on the cold ground but his legs felt numb when he saw Qiao Minde.
"Now that you are exposed, you have no use for me," the man’s voice was dangerously low yet audible.
"Master, I never betray you! I have never betrayed you! All those rumours you heard are false! They are false! You cannot let them sow discord between us! It’s all Shentu Chu’s doing! He wants to sow discord between us!" Butler Zhang cried out hysterically.
A guard stepped forward and removed the ropes from his hands and legs, but Butler Zhang chose to remain in a kneeling position.
"Back then, you saved my life and children’s. I will definitely stay loyal to you. Please believe me!" Butler Zhang gasped out.
"Old master Shentu treated you well. Wouldn’t you be moved by his kindness and bite me one day?" Qiao Minde asked casually. He didn’t sound serious like he was stalling for time. But Butler Zhang was too afraid to think of anything else so he didn’t notice.
"N...no. His kindness is nothing compared to master’s magnanimity!"
