Chapter 212: Even Ah Nian trust him
Qiao Tan snorted and turned away as he stomped out of the room. In his mind, he made a promise to ruin Pulan and never let her succeed. One day, his children will replace Pulan and they or he himself will be the head of the family.
"The meeting is over. Everyone, you may return to wherever you come from or you can challenge my orders and leave in the same way as Qiao Tan," Grandpa Qiao said.
Everyone exchanged glances and whispers. No one disagree or say anything after what happened with Qiao Tan. It was obvious that they didn’t want to get kick out of the family. Why would anyone be so stupid to get their ass kicked out when you can enjoy a tons and hundreds of benefits by just being born with the surname Qiao? They all wanted part of the cake so they were reluctant to challenge the old man’s orders.
"No one? Good. I take that everyone has agreed then," the old man smiled and turned to his beloved granddaughter.
"My old bones are tired. Come dear, escort me to my room. You too, ShenJi. Help me take my walking stick," the old man gestured for them. Pulan supported him while Qiao ShenJi took the old man’s walking stick.
Pulan looked over her shoulders and watched Qiao Minde walked out of the main hall. His actions surprised her. She expected him to counter her but he didn’t. Did grandpa and Qiao Minde talked about something?
Together, they went up the stairs, down the long seemingly endless hallway and finally to a large room which belonged to Grandpa Qiao.
Once alone in his room, Grandpa Qiao entered a coughing fit and coughed out blood! Poor Pulan’s heart almost stopped and break into pieces.
"Grandpa! Grandpa!"
"I’m okay, I’m okay. Don’t cry, my dear grandchild," he wiped the tears off her cheeks.
"Grandpa!" The girl’s voice held remorse and regret.
