Chapter 2: You’re not allowed to take anything!
Qin Zhuzhu felt foolish. How could she care for and love Xu Meng blindly for five years? She thought she could change his heart and show him that she was fit to be his wife. She perfected herself to the point that no one could find any fault with her. She was always prudent and careful in her actions, determined not to bring shame to the Xu family. She acted like his docile sweet and gentle wife because he said that he liked that type of girl. So he was actually referring to Bai Qianhua.
No wonder he never looked her in the eyes! Not even once! However, all her efforts fell on blind eyes as she was bullied countlessly by Xu Jing and Xu Lan, Xu Meng's sisters. Even Xu Meng's cousins liked to bully her and often badmouthed her!
Even her mother in law hated her and often berated her no matter what she did. Her mother in law made life difficult for her but she kept going with a smile. Her father in law ignored her but she noticed he looked at her with disdain. Ever since her family went bankrupt, everyone changed their views of her. She used to be treated like a queen even when she first married into the Xu family and everyone was eager to lick her boots.
Now, she was the laughingstock of the family. Money talks and makes the world go round, Qin Zhuzhu scoffed. Even her so-called friends left her. These people come to you when you have money but leave quickly when you are poor and broke.
They walked into the civil bureau and left afterwards, each holding the divorce certificate in their respective hands. Xu Meng's face showed no signs of regret or remorse while her heart was broken into pieces.
She turned to her ex husband, her pupils quivering.
"From now on, you can live your life freely and do whatever you want. Let's not bother each other's lives," Qin Zhuzhu's words were strong and decisive.
"Fine," Xu Meng agreed coldly. He looked at his ex wife and found something different about her today. What exactly it was, he didn't know.
From now on, she was no longer Mrs Xu, and she no longer needed to endure the humiliation she suffered at the Xu mansion. Xu Meng watched as Qin Zhuzhu turned away from him and walked off calmly. He expected her to beg him and cry but she didn't show much emotion. He couldn't help but scoff at her. Pretentious woman!
