A dream that could make Dong Xin Yan smile... certainly didn’t involve him.
But why, all of a sudden, he didn’t want to wake her up; just let her... finish this happy dream.
Gu Ningyi withdrew his hand, then lifted the blanket, got up, and got out of bed.
His whole body moved so quietly, instinctively, without even realizing it.
He picked up the robe beside him, draped it over himself, and walked toward the terrace. Leaning against the railing, he lit a cigarette, held it between his slender fingers, brought it to his lips, took a puff, and then slowly exhaled a smoke ring.
After finishing a cigarette, coupled with the cool breeze outside, Gu Ningyi’s irritability gradually subsided. He extinguished the cigarette butt, stood for a bit longer, and after the smell of smoke had dissipated from his body, he turned back and returned to the bedroom.
Dong Xin Yan was startled awake when Gu Ningyi pulled her into his embrace.
At first, she couldn’t be sure if this was real until she was fully enveloped, her head resting on Gu Ningyi’s arm, her cheek pressed against his warm, firm chest, and her waist held tightly by a strong arm. Surrounded by the man’s presence, she then confirmed that this was indeed real.
Dong Xin Yan’s body instantly became rigid.
Could it be that Gu Ningyi really wanted to continue?
However, after holding her in his arms, Gu Ningyi merely nudged her forehead with his chin a little, then fell silent. Dong Xin Yan waited about five minutes, confirming he had no intentions of doing anything more, and her heart slightly settled; but the situation wasn’t any better than before.
