Chapter 139: The First Great Battle (2/2)
Flain didn’t know what the Chief would do—there was a chance, however small, that due to his Stage, he could arrive here within seconds and do something devastating. It was less likely that it wouldn’t happen than it would, since doing so would make the Chief appear weak for having to fight among his soldiers in a battle against weaker opponents. But in Flain’s mind, a red warning light kept blinking.
So the best solution was to prevent him from doing it.
Near the Head Bandit was an elite squad, which was perfect. Flain ordered them to attack him and either take or destroy the Night Communicator.
Harur was Stage 3, so he should be able to hold the Head Bandit for a while.

Harur received the order. He led his unit toward a small elevation near the Head Bandit. Around him stood a guard of a few stronger bandits.
Harur instructed his men to take care of them. He charged into the bandits, who tried to stop him, but in vain. Harur wrapped his translucent tail around their legs and threw them aside.
The Head Bandit turned his gaze to him. "So your leader is sending a little punk after me, huh? I’ll enjoy this," he said, pulling the Communicator down, and in his other hand, a sword appeared as he launched himself toward Harur.
Harur narrowly dodged his sword, wrapped his legs with his tail, and from his hands released a black aura which, with tremendous force, slammed into the Head Bandit’s abdomen, sending him flying several meters away.
The bandit landed on his feet and wiped a few drops of blood from his mouth.
