"If I don’t return within a week, or if the barrier around this room disappears, go straight to the Guildmaster at the counter," Ignatius said firmly. "He might seem gruff, but he’s dependable. I’ll leave him a message too."
"That’s..." Shen Xinghui’s words faltered.
Did this mean there was no guarantee of safety?
That it was truly dangerous?
He clung tightly to Ignatius’s waist, shaking his head like a stubborn child.
Why did Ignatius have to go?
Couldn’t they just wait it out until someone else dealt with the monster?
Why did it have to be him?
"Don’t go," Shen Xinghui murmured, barely above a whisper.
His plea made Ignatius smile wryly, his expression a mix of fondness and apology.
He gently stroked Shen Xinghui’s head, his touch as soothing as ever.
