After Mu Shuoqian left, Gu Qili cleaned up the dining table. As she wiped the table, she saw the golden card with the VIP inscription. She guessed there must be a lot of money in it, anything less than eight figures would be a slap to Mu Shuoqian’s face. Since there’s so much money, why not secretly spend it all? Haha.
Gu Qili rolled her eyes at herself and quietly pocketed the card, placing it in the innermost compartment of her wallet.
He was right, living here would certainly incur expenses. She was still a student with no income, her family would not give her money anymore. Every cent she spent was either saved from before or from scholarships earned later. He never calls her, no matter how important the matter, always texting instead, as if he was reluctant to hear her voice.
Gu Qili was still working on her papers, hadn’t had dinner yet, glanced at the clock, it was six-thirty. It would take an hour to get to the downtown area from here, plus the time lost in traffic. Leaving now, she would probably arrive on time at eight.

Because it was a sudden visit, she didn’t bring any change of clothes. When Mu Shuoqian was not around, she secretly wore his pajamas, which he seemed to despise after lending it to her once and never asked for it back, hanging squarely in the bedroom closet, conveniently available for her.
