Chapter 9 Did You Enter the Wrong Room?
Coming here was a sudden decision, so she didn't bring any change of clothes. She got car sick and vomited today; even now she still feels a strange odor lingering on her, and can't go to sleep without taking a bath.
There was only one white bath towel in the washroom, which she tried on for size. It just managed to wrap around her from the shoulders down. Besides, Mu Shuoqian was sleeping in the master bedroom, and she in the secondary bedroom, unconnected; naturally, she didn't need to worry about him suddenly paying a visit.
He probably wasn't interested in her. At least for the entire duration of their marriage, except for occasionally displaying affection in front of others, he hadn't touched her once. With a bitter smile, she thought that he probably disdained her.
After taking a bath, she made a phone call to her roommate, Mickey, to tell her she wouldn't return to the dormitory tonight.
"Staying out all night? That's not like you at all. Spill the beans, which handsome guy are you messing around with?" Mickey was relentless on the other end of the line, insisting on getting an answer.
Gu Qili slipped under the covers, the house newly renovated and even the quilt fresh and new, carrying the fresh scent of cotton.
"Stop gossiping, I didn't shut down my computer, please do it for me."
She half-covered herself with the quilt, taking a textbook in one hand while sandwiching her phone between her neck and shoulder.
"Qiqi, your bestie Hu Jiaojiao came looking for you. I asked her what it was about, but she hemmed and hawed without really saying."
