Chapter 410: Begging Desperately
I finally figured out that as long as I held something dear, I would always live with a constant fear that one day I might lose them. I had no idea where I was or what I was doing as I silently walked along a straight path with large trees on both sides. At that moment in my dream, I felt utterly alone, and it didn’t feel like my baby was inside of me. Suddenly, I heard the sound of a wolf howling. Surprisingly, the sound felt like it came from close by rather than from afar.
My legs began rushing forward as I broke out into a run. My instinct told me that I might find the answer that I was looking for if I managed to catch up to that wolf. Strangely enough, it felt like I was just watching myself running around in my dream and that I had no control over what was going to happen next. A lone wolf sat at the end of the path. Although I had run quite a distance, I wasn’t at all tired, and that reminded me that I was living in the world of dreams. Something made me feel like I have known the wolf before and for a very long time. The wolf felt so familiar, although I couldn’t quite understand how I could feel such a bond with the creature. Even before I could wonder whether I could communicate with the wolf, my mouth was already opening to ask the question that I had in mind.
’Are you here to help me?’ I asked while daring to have hope. I was so desperate for help that I was willing to beg for it from anything and anyone, even the supernatural.
‘What do you need help with?’ the wolf answered, although its mouth did not move.
Of course, I didn’t think that the wolf could converse in human language, and so the only explanation was that we were communicating through the link between our minds. I could hear her voice inside of my head rather than through my ears. It reminded me of the multiple times that I used this method to communicate with the prince.
’I need your help...to save my baby,’ I begged passionately.
At first, I thought that it was senseless that I was begging for help from the wolf. It took me a few seconds to connect the dots as to why I was behaving that way in my dream. I recalled one of the things that the prince had told me when he revealed to me that I have wolf genes running in my veins. He explained that I could also think of it as having a wolf inside of me.
If that is the case, then could it be that this is the wolf inside of me?
Suddenly, I dropped to my knees right in front of the wolf. The ’me’ inside of my dreams seemed to be much smarter than I was in real life. She must have realized that there was probably one way that could increase the probability that I would reach full term in my pregnancy and safely deliver my child. If the problem was compatibility and the fact that the body could not accommodate the transformation of the human baby into that of a wolf back and forth in an uncontrollable manner, then the best solution was to call upon whatever wolf feature that I had in my body to help accommodate the baby’s change.
There is a wolf inside of me...
Perhaps the fact that I could see the wolf right in front of me was proof enough that there was a wolf residing inside of me.
‘Please help me. Please help save my baby. Please! Please let me borrow your body!’ I said repeatedly as my voice got louder and louder inside my own head.
