Chapter 353: The Only Way to Find Out
“Does that mean that you could see it? Can you really see my missing memories? Can you really see the memories of my parents?” I asked while talking so rapidly as my eyes widened with a mix of anticipation and excitement.
“To be honest with you, I’m not sure. We were not connected long enough for me to view all your memories and I didn’t have any need to go through your memories either. It would just be a violation of your privacy, and I didn’t want to do that,” the prince explained.
“But there’s a possibility that my memories are still there although I don’t seem to remember anything, right?” I asked while still daring to bear hope.
“That may be the case...” the prince replied with a nod of his head.
“And does that mean that you can see it? Even if I can’t remember it but if my memories are still there, then you can see them, right?” I asked as I felt an intense emotion welling up in my chest.
It felt like I had just found what I had spent years tirelessly searching for. Suddenly, it felt like there was light shining at the end of the tunnel. Suddenly, there was hope when I had thought that all hope was lost.
“Don’t get your hopes up too much, Mila. This is all just speculation based on what I think. I’m not absolutely certain that I can access the memories related to your parents,” he warned me.
I knew that he was doing it for my own good. If I get my hopes up too much, I would end up crushed with disappointment when things did not go the way that I wanted them to.
“Even if that’s the case, we should really give it a try. I understand that it may not work but there is a chance that it may work, right?” I asked while sounding too hopeful than I would have liked.
