It won’t be too much longer before I get to see the prince. I just had to hang on until then...
The effects of the temporary cure to my condition that the prince had helped me figure out were clearly fading. Because he referred to it as a temporary remedy, I knew that its effects would wear off eventually as time passed by; however, I didn’t think that it would be this soon. My heart clenched in my chest as my lower abdomen clenched from my own ache of desire for the prince.
Was Prince Leonard’s palace always this big and was his bedroom always this far away from the entrance?
The walk felt too excruciatingly painful, and the hallway seemed to stretch on forever. Each turn seemed to suck up so much of my energy. I placed my hand over my chest and felt the wild beating of my heart while feeling thankful that I at least had a knee-length coat on top of the revealing dress that I had on. Even though it wasn’t thick it served its purpose of hiding away my form very well. After a short while of walking, a strange feeling took over me and soon I figured out what was bothering me.
“Excuse me...” I said to get the butler’s attention.
“What is it, Lady Mila?” the butler turned to address me.
“This...isn’t the way to the prince’s bedroom...” I stated with certainty.
“It isn’t,” he replied before he smiled at me calmly.
“But I thought...” I said before I stopped myself.
