Chapter 227: Full Moon Announcement
To me it was such an embarrassing moment; however, I was certain that the other people didn’t feel that way.
“Prince Leonard has formally requested for you to act as his mate on the night of the full moon,” Madame Sand informed me with clear excitement.
Although she was trying her best to sound composed and formal, I could see and hear just how excited she was from her tone of voice and the look in her eyes. Her enthusiasm made me unsure of how I should react. Honestly, at first I only thought of the promise that the prince made with me as a personal vow that was supposed to be share between us. It never occurred to me that his choice would be made into such a public affair nor that it would catch the attention of so many people.
“I see. Thank you for letting me know,” I murmured without knowing what else to say.
“You don’t sound so pleased or surprised. Did you already know about it?” she asked while looking slightly disappointed.
“Prince Leonard told me beforehand so there’s hardly anything to be surprised about,” I replied while trying to sound polite.
“Well, since he spends time with you, I guess it only makes sense that he would tell you beforehand or that you two have probably agreed to the arrangement before he made the formal request,” Madame Sand said understandingly with a nod of her head.
“Yes,” I replied in short.
Isn’t that how things are supposed to be?
