Chapter 214: Approaching Full Moon
Why did he have to say something like that?
The sound of the prince’s amused laughter sounded loud and clear from behind me. It seemed like I had served as another kind of entertainment again. Although I felt extremely embarrassed and all I wanted to do was hide away, I found myself smiling a little in relief that the prince seemed to have returned to his usual good mood. The prince became silent behind me, and I turned around in wonder to look at him.
“The moon will be full again in a few days...” Prince Leonard said with a faraway look in his eyes after his laughter died down.
The night of the full moon...
Because of how the calendar was formed, there would be one full moon night every month. I haven’t been keeping track of the moon, but it seemed like the night of the full moon was fast approaching. I never thought that the moon would play a significant role in my life in any way but since the start of my involvement with the prince and finding out that he’s got werewolf blood in him, the phases of the moon seemed to have some effects on our lives.
I could still recall the complex way that the last full moon night played out for us and that made me wonder in a mix of fear and curiosity about what would happen in a few days’ time when the moon would be full again.
“What...is going to happen on that night?” I asked after mustering up my courage to speak up.
“What do you think will happen?” the prince asked as his blue eyes stared deeply into mine.
My heart clenched tightly in my chest as my lips went dry just at the thought. I would be lying if I said that I didn’t have a reasonably good idea of what was going to happen on that night.
