Chapter 203: Tempting Closeness
“Seriously, you don’t have to do this...” I said while praying that he would change his mind.
“You’re right. I don’t have to do this, but I do want to do this...” he said stubbornly without backing down.
“Well, fine. Can you just...stand over there for now?” I asked while indicating with my finger a spot close to the counter.
Prince Leonard grinned at me before obediently taking a few steps to stand at the spot that I had indicated. Now that I’ve somewhat succeeded in creating some space between us, I felt like I could focus more on the task at hand. I reached for a white apron that had been prepared and slipped it on over my dress. After that, I took out the ingredients that Salena had brought over and began preparing the pot. All the while, I was conscious of the prince’s eyes on me as he followed my every movement.
I thought that I could get used to him watching me but that didn’t turn out to be the case. It took a lot of effort for me to focus on preparing the ingredients while not turning to look in the prince’s direction. Thankfully, Prince Leonard didn’t say anything or do anything else to directly distract me.
“Mila...”
I heard the prince calling my name softly from behind me after a short while.
Too close behind me...
I gasped as I turned around to come face to face with him. My eyes widened in shock and I immediately took a step back to get away from him. The hardness of the counter against my back told me that I didn’t have much room to move backwards.
