Chapter 179: An Attractive Distraction

How am I supposed to concentrate when I’m sitting on his lap and he’s basically breathing behind my ear?
My entire body stiffened when he carried me against his body and sat down in his seat again, this time with me on his lap. Behind held in his arms while sitting on his lap made me very aware of our size difference. His arms pulled me back closer against his body until I felt the heat of his body against my back. He left one arm around my waist to keep me in place before his other hand reached out to pull the book closer to us on the table.
“You’re so small, you’re like a doll...” he commented before he chuckled a little close to my ear.
Sometimes it felt like he could tell what I was thinking although I knew that he couldn’t read my mind.
“Take a look at this map, Mila,” he said softly.
I was too aware of how close he was to me and because of that I found it very hard to concentrate. I tried my best to focus on the map that he was showing me.
“This is the map of this kingdom...” he told me softly.
The light green island drawn on the map surrounded by the deep blue water of the ocean looked very prominent. There were words which I assumed were names of the various cities in the kingdom printed on the map as well. I had no idea that the place where I was is shaped like that.
