Chapter 85: Prey in His Bed
His pace quickened and I could tell that his mood had not improved at all throughout the walk back here. Soon we stood in front of his bedroom. The prince did not waste time in carrying me in there and then dumping me right onto his bed.
I felt the softness of his bed beneath me for a moment before I tried my sit up on the bed. The last time that I was here, he shouted at me and then dragged me out of his room after accusing me of climbing into his bed to seduce him. The prince stood next to the bed as he breathed heavily. His blue eyes stared intensely down at me, and I suddenly felt scared of him.
My hands gripped the red coat that he had draped over my shoulders as I tried to use it to shield my body away from his sight. His gaze seemed to burn my skin and made my heart race. I thought that Prince Florian was dangerous, but it seemed like I didn’t understand what real danger meant until that moment.
He’s going to kill me...or worse...
Prince Leonard resembled a wild leopard when he leaped onto the bed with me. I cried out in panic as I backed away like a cornered prey. My heart beat so loudly in my chest that I could hear it ringing in my ears. His blue eyes were wild, and it didn’t seem like he was himself any longer. The fact that he hadn’t said a word to me told me that he was beyond furious. I wished I could say that I should have known better but there was no way that I could anticipate that Prince Florian would be waiting for me in the bathhouse.
My wet clothes still clung to my skin, and I was wetting his bed. I backed away from him until my back hit the head of his bed with a loud thud. There was nowhere for me to run. My mind and body were instantly reminded of the night of the full moon that had just passed. Back then, I tried to get away from him just like this before I was cornered...and then...
“Prince Leonard!” I cried out his name as he suddenly gripped and yanked on my wrist.
His large frame loomed over me as he trapped me between his body and the head of his bed. My throat felt so dry that I couldn’t swallow. A feeling very similar to fear started spreading all over my body as he continued to stare at me with those captivating blue eyes of his. His eyes didn’t resemble his usual clear and calm blue eyes at all. It felt like he had lost himself again in his rage and his condition reminded me of the state that he was in during that night of the full moon. However, the moon was nowhere near full tonight.
