The Alpha Prince's Purchased Maid

Chapter 24: Accident with an Honorable Maiden

“You! Grab those rose vases from over there and put them on those tables. Quickly!” a senior maid instructed loudly as she pointed a finger at me.

“Yes, right away...” I said before quickly doing what I was supposed to do.

When I arrived at the table where the vases filled with red roses were, I quickly discovered that the vases were much larger and heavier than I had thought. How am I supposed to carry all three of these on my own? I could try one or two at a time.

“Mila! Do you need help?” Jessie asked as she quickly approached my side.

“Oh, thank goodness that you’re here. I must carry three of these, but they’re big and heavy. Can you help take one? I’ll handle two of them,” I said as relief flooded my body, and then I sighed.

“Sure. I’ll put this one on that table over there. You can do the other two,” Jessie said encouragingly.

I watched her back as she carried one of the large vases away. Now I have to take these two vases over there. I lifted a vase and then another. Holding two large vases filled with red roses felt extremely heavy, but it wasn’t a long walk from where I needed to take them. I can do this!

The biggest challenge wasn’t just the weight but the size of the vases. The red roses arranged beautifully in the vase by the florists also blocked my entire field of vision. I could hardly see in front of me with the vase and the roses blocking my view. Perhaps it was a mistake to carry both at once, and I had bitten off more than I could chew. However, time was running out, and I needed to do it. I strolled forward while I prayed that the other maids would clear a path for me as I came through.

I almost reached the first table when the vase I was holding suddenly bumped into something. The impact caused me to lose my balance. It happened so fast that I wasn’t sure what had happened. I let out a cry of surprise as I felt myself falling backward. The vases fell from my hand, and soon, I landed hard on my butt, with the soft grass helping to cushion my fall. When I heard the sharp cry of a woman who wasn’t my own, I realized I must have walked right into someone.
