Gemma was stunned as soon as the sentence came out of his mouth. W–What kind of question was that? Why did he make it sound like... this was their first kiss or something?! They already had a son who had come of age, for God’s sake! They had done everything that should have been done between couples, so why was he still asking for permission when he wanted to kiss his Alpha?!
He was so occupied in masking his own fluster and bewilderment that he failed to notice how the man in front of him froze, eyes wide in shock as though not expecting to hear something like that from the omega.
The man’s gaze involuntarily dropped to Gemma’s tightly pursed lips, and he lowered his lashes to hide the complex emotions within. Then as if making up his mind, he held Gemma’s hands tighter and whispered hoarsely, "...You may."
Gemma’s heart skipped a beat before it started to race faster and faster. He peered up at Vincent and discreetly sighed in relief when he saw that the Alpha did not notice anything amiss.
Then, did it mean that he could go on and... kiss him?
His eyes zeroed in on Vincent’s lips and his tongue subconsciously darted out to wet his bottom lip in nervousness. Those lips looked... beautiful, seductive. Utterly flawless. It took him a while to realize that his palms were clammy with sweat and he could only hope that Vincent would not ask anything about it. Oh dear... just why the hell was he so nervous? He really had no idea what was wrong with him. It was as if he had forgotten how it felt to kiss this man. The mere thought of touching each other’s lips were enough to set his entire body aflame, it was as if molten fire was running through his veins instead of blood.
Taking a deep breath, he squeezed his eyes, leaned forward and pressed his lips gently on Vincent’s. It was a very innocent little peck, yet as soon as he eased back and their gazes collided in midair, both of them immediately blushed.
