Chapter 586 - 9.56 Seize Zhao Bolin
Yang Tengfei shook his head gently and stepped into the laboratory.
The military basecamp used to be one of the most sophisticated research centers for malaria. Later, the sponsor suddenly retracted its support and with insufficient funds, the research center could only be closed permanently. Fortunately, the laboratory was still intact. As such, they only needed to move the stuff from Zhao Bolin’s laboratory here for Li Zhu to continue the experiment.
Yang Tengfei did not take into mind Li Zhu’s spooked behavior at all. After all, in his impression, this person had always been kinda intimidated by him — on top of his obvious romantic feelings, of course.
He pulled out a can of cold juice from his large pocket and pressed it to Li Zhu’s cheek, startling the other. The ice in his tone thawed ever so slightly as he said, "It’s getting late. You still haven’t finished checking the files yet?"
Li Zhu lowered his eyes to hide the surge of panic within. He clenched his fists and mustered a smile as he received the can juice. "En... there’s a lot to learn. I can’t rely on Professor Zhao anymore so..." he let his sentence trail off and shrugged dejectedly.
Yang Tengfei paused for a moment before he reached out to pat Li Zhu twice on his head. Such an intimate gesture was totally unlike Yang Tengfei at all! Li Zhu snapped his head up in shock, color rising on his cheek. "C–Commander...?"
"Don’t push yourself too hard," he murmured in a deep voice. His gaze was inscrutable as he stared at the blushing youth in front of him. "If you’re unable to take on this task, tell me. I will speak to the President on your behalf."
As he expected, Li Zhu sprung up like a cat whose tail was being stepped on. His cheeks puffed up in refusal. "T–There’s no need! I can do this! I have Professor Zhao’s data with me. I can definitely finish the vaccine in three months!"
"Are you sure?" Yang Tengfei asked again, sounding hesitant.
