Chapter 519 - 8.119 Can You Not Go?*
On the surface, all was calm and peaceful but only the players knew that an open war would begin anytime soon.
Cyrus was right to calculate that there would be a war between guest players and werewolves. However, he failed to take into account that human hearts were the most unpredictable. There were tens of players on the ship, all harbored different mindset and different plans. Through the series of coincidences, the open war would be brought forward to day three instead of seven.
...Well, it did not change Lu Yizhou’s grand scheme anyway. On the contrary, it might be better this way. The more chaotic the situation was, the easier it was to experiment on his conjecture.
However, he needed to do that in a way that would not be overruled by the system. Just like in the previous quest, because Lu Yizhou coincidentally found Ella’s diary which unlocked a breakthrough about the black witch, Diana was able to trigger the special quest and brought the time forward until they finally cleared the game in two days. Everything was a series of coincidences and this time, too, Lu Yizhou needed it to be the same.
There was no suspense after the voting session ended. Captain Rong had been prepared and before the eliminated werewolves could even react, they had already been apprehended, rendering them unable to come up with any tricks to save their lives.
Only their cries of mercy and plead of innocence echoed in the air even after they had been dragged out of the hall...
Lu Yizhou took his gaze off them and shifted to Captain Rong. It might the the trick of the light but for a split second, Lu Yizhou seemed to see greed flashing through his otherwise heavy gaze. Lu Yizhou calmly made eye contact with Cyrus across the room and knew that he had not seen wrongly. Cyrus nodded, indicating that they would try to find out more about the daytime version of Captain Rong.
Actually, there was something about the young girl’s death that Lu Yizhou was doubtful about.
He was certain that every player on this ship had tricks up their sleeves. At least, they knew how to not court death in this place that was riddled with deadly trap. However, the young girl’s accident happened in broad daylight and her corpse was coincidentally placed in a spot that was not so conspicuous but could be easily found if someone had keen eyes.
