Chapter 465 - 8.65 In Your Dreams
"You are..." Lu Yizhou looked at Ailín in shock and disbelief.
He raked his gaze up and down Ailín’s body before pausing on the mark of the array that was peeking out of his collar.
How...? How did he get here? He and Ji Yan had made sure to lock the door so that Ailín would not be able to run out again. But then he recalled that something was unusual with this space. It seemed to be separated from the mansion because Lu Yizhou could not even hear anything from the fight between Luca, Ji Yan and Olivia. Therefore, it was not unusual for Ailín to appear here. They could not hinder the black witch just with a single door and lock.
"Miss Irene." Ailín gave him a smile so familiar that it surprised him for a split second. "It’s a pleasure to meet you again. You must have been shocked last time."
"You’re right," Lu Yizhou replied dryly. Then, because he could not contain his curiosity, he asked. "...Since when?"
"The first night." Ailín answered but instead of his own voice, what came out of his mouth was Maureen’s repulsive voice. Beside him, Maureen smirked, satisfied with the disapproval frown she saw from Lu Yizhou’s face. "We couldn’t enter Olivia’s room because of her holy nun power. Diana is our ally so she’s an exception. At first, the sacrifice should be you but Miss Maureen has another idea. That’s why it could only be me. Poor me. I was dying in my bed, but my roommate didn’t even try to save me!" Even though the voice was laced with despair and woe, the smile on Ailín’s face remained the same. The contrast was unnerving, it could make anyone’s goosebumps rise.
Lu Yizhou’s jaws tensed. So, ever since the time Ailín came to them, flustered to inform them about Diana’s death, he had become the black witch’s sacrifice. And not only that, Diana had known everything all along!
Damn it! These two people should be given an award for the pretense they had shown to the world!
Diana was completely focused on her own mission and did not care if her teammates were to die. In addition to that, Ailín’s acting had been totally natural, humane and left no room for doubt. Especially their last conversation during their walk to the kitchen...
