Lu Yizhou awoke to the sensation of something rough and wet sliding against his cheek. Startled, he snapped his eyes open only to come face to face with a pair of... slit ruby eyes?
"Meow~" The fluffy pure white cat snuggled closer to him, purring with its long tail swishing back and forth. Still a bit disoriented, Lu Yizhou reached out to support the chubby feline and stroked its warm silky fur, making the cat purr even harder. It was... very soothing, to say the least.
He soon grew alert enough to scan his surroundings. He was in a narrow room that only contained a single bed which he was laying on now. The ground was shaking slightly beneath him and a glance outside the small window beside him showed the blurred moving scenery of green mountain hills with the sky dusted in amber hues of the setting sun far in the distance.
A guess popped up in his mind.
He was in a... train berth?
"Meow~"
Lu Yizhou returned his gaze to the pliant cat in front of him and startled when the color of its eyes fully sank into his mind. No, wait — was it common for a cat to have ruby eyes as red as blood?
Lu Yizhou held the cat away from him, lips parted only to freeze when he caught sight of a huge mound in front of his chest. He had thought that it was the cat that had been making his chest feel heavy but no, he was sorely wrong. This... This was...
[666...?] Lu Yizhou’s voice trembled. The shock that coursed through him was akin to a thunderstorm on a summer noonday, sending his head spinning in circles.
