Villain Saving System (BL)

Chapter 345 - 7.35 Edge Of Madness

The temperature in Moshe’s eyes instantly plunged past the freezing point. He scooped Cheryl into his arms and fixed the waiter with a death stare. "If you know what’s best for you, then you’d better lead me there." Not that he would let this person escape, Moshe brooded. He had touched what belonged to Moshe. There would be no mercy.

Terror seized the waiter’s heart like a poisonous vice. He truly felt as if a scythe was hanging over his neck. If he made one wrong movement, then it would instantly cut his head off! He was on the verge of breaking down into tears. "I—I—I’m sorry, I’m really, really sorry! I—I swear I don’t know anything! Mr. Zion gave me a huge sum of money just to lock the resting lounge. I really don’t know anything!"

Resting lounge. Moshe gave a man one last glance to remember his face before turning away. There would be a lot of time to bestow punishment later. Even if the man escaped to the edge of the world, Moshe would hunt him down and teach him that ignorance was an unpardonable sin!

No time left to waste, he picked up his pace and then started running along the hallway, his heart thundering madly inside his ribcage. The knowledge that Aiden was currently together with Zion inside a locked room was unraveling some ugly, twisted emotions within the deepest chamber of his chest. His jaws clenched tensely and his golden eyes blazed, almost burning everything that dared to stand in his way. Moshe focused on the weight of Cheryl in his arms, unwilling to delve too deep into his thoughts. He feared... No! Aiden would be okay. He would definitely be okay! But if something happened to him...

The distance toward the resting lounge was short yet somehow every step Moshe took seemed to dismantle his self-control bit by bit. The composure he had cultivated for years, his mask of cordiality... everything threatened to crumble down with the thought of Aiden being hurt. He was tethering on the edge of madness. Just a little push... Just one last push and then he would explode and burn the whole world down with him.

Was this how his father felt when he decided to send his mother away after an assassination attempt on her? Was this how his father felt when he said ’feelings are a burden’ with a wistful look on his face? Was this why he said that people like them were destined to be alone until the day they died?

If so then maybe... maybe Moshe could start to understand his father a bit. Because right at this moment, when he arrived at the locked rest lounge and picked up the unmistakably grunts and moans of two people lost in wild pleasure, Moshe found himself wondering if that day... if he didn’t meet Aiden that day, didn’t bring him away from the gladiator arena, would he have lived an ordinary and peaceful life?

"Brother Moshe...?" Cheryl called out quietly when she sensed the tremble on Moshe’s body.

Moshe snapped out of his reverie and placed her down. In time, Mr. Agenor’s bodyguard had caught up with him and took out a spare key to open the door. Chills permeated Moshe’s entire body as he sought Cheryl’s eyes. She looked distraught and concerned. Oh those eyes that were identical to Aiden’s... Moshe almost couldn’t breathe for a moment. "Cheryl, stay here okay? I..." He paused to swallow. Breathe, Moshe. "I will go and get your brother, then we... we will go home."
