Inside the auditorium, those rich people’s curiosity was even higher than that of the reporters. They were itching to find out about the identity of the gentleman who had become Moshe’s companion. For years, Moshe had always been alone at events like this. Who was this man to have broken Moshe’s no-partner principle?
With the guise of greeting each other, they brought a champagne glass and strode toward where Moshe and Lu Yizhou were. "Mr. Morelli!" They exclaimed joyously. "It’s very good to see you here. We saw that you have finally brought someone for the first time. Who is this lucky guy?"
Everytime they asked, Moshe always answered. "Aiden, my companion." That’s it. Nothing less, nothing more.
When they couldn’t get an answer out of Moshe’s mouth, they started to turn to Lu Yizhou and engaged him in a conversation. Lu Yizhou was amused at how nosy they were. It seemed like his lover was really popular. Now that he wasn’t alone anymore, these people transformed into a pack of wolves, sharp noses snooping around for juicy information as if they had nothing better to do. Or maybe... they truly didn’t.
Like Moshe, he smoothly dodged every question regarding his background, merely replying to meaningless questions such as;
"I am turning 24 this year."
"If I have to say something about how we met, then it ought to be... destiny." He glanced at Moshe with a slight smile on his face. "Right, Mr. Mo?"
The crowd looked at each other with eagerness, sniffing the telltale of an interesting gossip. "Destiny? That sounds so... vague. Hehe, don’t get us wrong. We just want to know you better."
Once again, Lu Yizhou skillfully eluded the peering questions. Gradually, the people started to doubt. Playing so hard to get like this, what if he actually... had no background at all? Their faces abruptly changed as they stole glances at each other. They switched plans, no longer trying to pry any information from Lu Yizhou’s mouth. Instead, they tried to test him by talking about finances and economics, the stuff that no ordinary people could only dream to achieve.
