Villain Saving System (BL)

Chapter 287 - 6.47 Overwhelmed

Cyrus beckoned him to come over and when Jillian guided his horse to totter close, he tipped his feet off the ground and proceeded to fly by his side. Jillian’s eyes widened in shock and he subconsciously looked around in fluster. "You...!" Weirdly enough, everyone was acting like they noticed nothing. No, in fact, they were sneaking glances at Jillian instead. Either because of his identity or his strange demeanor.

"Don’t worry, General." Cyrus cleared his confusion. "People won’t be able to see me unless I allow them to or... they are children with exceptionally pure hearts and elderlies whose lifespan is nearing its end. That’s why you don’t need to act like this otherwise you will pull attention to yourself."

So it was indeed because he was acting weird. Jillian straightened up and schooled his expression, albeit he couldn’t help sneaking one glance after another to the flying dragon beside him. He had always been wondering... could Cyrus read his mind or was he just that easy to read?

"Earlier, you’re asking why the God of Darkness is acting unusual." Cyrus started speaking. They were heading to a familiar path, Jillian noticed. He was soon distracted by Cyrus’ words though, thus he merely grunted in affirmation.

"Listen well, General. There are six main elements that comprise the universe namely water, fire, earth, air, and lastly, light and darkness. They are supposed to balance each other out. Too much will become a disaster, too little will also cause disaster. Supposedly, Gods who embodied those main elements are prone to instability. Sometimes, they harbor too much power that they need to let it out a little bit, that’s why you have periods when it rains every single day, when the air is so hot it can burn your skin, when the ocean tide is high sometimes and low the other times, and also when the nights are longer than the rest."

Jillian recalled Regius’ feral look and swallowed. "Too much power... Is that what is happening to Regius?"

"Yes, the sudden surge of followers has caused the God of Darkness to get overwhelmed. If he doesn’t let it out..." Cyrus lifted his head and Jillian followed his line of sight to see that dark clouds had gathered in the sky above them, the obvious telltale of an incoming storm. Wind howled fiercely and Jillian bent down to calm his anxious horse, fingers brushing through its thick mane as he whispered soothingly into its ear. His brows furrowed in apprehension. This horse had accompanied him through countless battlefields and was one of the sturdiest among its kind. What could have spooked it so much? "Best, he will mess with the weather and worse, he will destroy the world."

Jillian snapped his eyes up, eyes wide in horror. "Destroy the world...?"

Cyrus nodded with a somber look to assert his point. "For now, we can still retain him but sooner or later, our power will not be able to hold him back anymore."
