Villain Saving System (BL)

"You..." Doctor Wyatt inhaled deeply, his face contorted. When he managed to keep up a semblance of composure again, he blurted out, hissing. "General Kai, do you even know what you are talking about right now?! The King of parasites... you’re saying that our President has been taken over by the King for— no, you have to explain everything from the beginning. Right now. How do you know that it’s the King in the first place? Now that we are talking about it, the cabinet of ministers have been searching for you high and low. Your subordinate, Lieutenant Yves, has submitted the request for an audience five times in the last three hours! He almost broke into my office!"

Lu Yizhou brought a hand up to his temple. This wasn’t the right time for any of those. His hearing-sense had already picked up the faint commotion outside the hospital grounds. They had been surrounded by parasites. He made the movement to get off the bed. The gravity in his eyes made Doctor Wyatt swallow the words of protest. "Lock down the hospital. Right now."

"What for—" Doctor Wyatt’s expression changed abruptly.

Beside Lu Yizhou, Terra tensed. His eyes darted around warily and his hackles raised. Lu Yizhou instantly reached for him and held his hands tight, rubbing soothing motion on his knuckles. But it was of little use right now, Terra’s instinct had been honed to sense danger, preparing him to fight at any time.

Lu Yizhou caught the dawning horror in Doctor Wyatt’s eyes. "You can sense it, can’t you doctor?" he asked.

"W—What are they?" Doctor Wyatt looked as if he was going to get sick. He held his forehead and had to grab onto the bed railing for support. If it was just one person’s emotion, he could easily block it off his mind. He was also trained to tune out multiple emotions from different people around him. But this... to have a group of people together with their minds synced together, exuding the same ferocious air. Kill! Kill and take back what is ours! It was like a sharp needle was drilling into his brain, again and again, targeting the same spot and he had to pour all of his willpower not to be swayed by the sheer intensity of the murderous intent.

"The parasites." The crate in his palm rattled as if sensing that rescue was near. Lu Yizhou merely shoved it into his pocket and went to check the load in his gun. Fortunately it was full. He barked out toward Doctor Wyatt who had blanked out. "Lock down the hospital. Now!"

Doctor Wyatt scrambled to get his walkie talkie and stammered as he spoke.

Lu Yizhou crossed the room to peer out the window and saw a sea of heads — tens, hundreds of people had formed a circle around the hospital and marching closer with an eerily uniformed movement like puppets. They came from all ages and backgrounds; men and women, old and young. The parasites had sunk their claws too deep into the society and nobody even realized it as they kept on with their lives as usual, unaware that the person beside them, their family members, their friends, or even lover, had fallen prey to the brain-sucking creatures.

He cursed as a few heads looked up and instantly zeroed in on him.
