Chapter 177 - 4.42 The Effective Way
Against Heimo’s incessant nagging, Lu Yizhou forced himself to sit up and the blanket slid down his back, revealing his toned abdominal muscles and trousers which hung low on his hips. Heimo’s angry protest died down his throat at the provocative sight. Even when the man’s complexion was poor, his hair messy with sleep and torso wrapped in thick, ugly bandage, he was still the most beautiful man Heimo had ever seen.
It was made worse by the flickering candle, its orange glow licked on his skin that was faintly covered by a layer of sweat and each of his movements made his muscles rippled deliciously. Heimo had been trying not to think about it since he — innocently — stripped Lu Yizhou down to tend to his wounds and he managed, somehow, because he had been too distressed by the hole on his back.
But now that the man was well and very much awake... Heimo’s eyes were drawn to the broad line of his shoulders and the scandalous way his abs moved with every breath he took. Heimo had known that the man’s body was fit yet he had never expected that he was hiding such a... muscular body under those neat and pristine garments. It was almost a pity that the whole world didn’t know how sexy Lu Yizhou was without his clothes on. Alas, just imagining that anyone were to see him like this was enough to make Heimo see red again.
Mine, his mind chorused. No one was allowed to see, no one was allowed to touch except me!
Heimo swallowed thickly and averted his gaze. He didn’t trust himself at this moment, not when he hadn’t quite gotten the demonic energy within him under control. "Why—Why do they want you to die?" Heimo snapped his eyes back to the man, furious. "Aren’t you their best senior disciple? You’re Jingxue-Jun, for fuck’s sake! What is Lingyan thinking, discarding you just like that?!" If, Heimo couldn’t help but imagine, if it was him, he would treat Lu Yizhou like a treasure, the man would be cherished, revered and respected like how he should be. Nobody would dare to slight him unless they wanted to enrage Heimo himself. He would definitely adore Lu Yizhou, more than Lingyan ever could.
Instead of answering, Lu Yizhou only shook his head with a helpless look as if Heimo was a naive child. It angered him even more! What did he mean by that?! What— Lu Yizhou reached a hand toward him and rasped, "Come here."
All thoughts in Heimo’s mind grinded to a halt and he found himself gaping. Lu Yizhou, who was sitting on the bed with the rumpled blanket pooled around his waist. Lu Yizhou, messy and disheveled, the sight that was solely for Heimo to see. Lu Yizhou, inviting him to come closer. Without him realizing, Heimo’s body had moved on its own as he placed his hand gingerly on Lu Yizhou’s palm. His hold was warm, searing when he slowly tugged Heimo closer as if wishing to give Heimo time to back out. Who did he think Heimo was? His heart wasn’t made of stone and damn it, this was the man he had been mooning for months. Heimo let himself be pulled forward until he had one knee up the bed, then the other until he was settled between Lu Yizhou’s legs. Heimo tried to look anywhere but the smooth expanse of honey-colored skin, so alluring that all he could think was to lean forward and taste it on the tip of his tongue.
Before he could do that, a thread of spiritual energy entered his veins; cool, deep blue, familiar. His eyes flew wide. "You—!"
Lu Yizhou hushed him softly. There was just something in the way his eyes darkened, darting briefly down to Heimo’s lips before floating up again; the way his lips parted slightly as he exhaled, the way his gaze pinned Heimo to the ground, rendering him unable to move except allowing Lu Yizhou to probe his meridians. This... This felt different than before. Inside the private confines of the room, it felt even more intimate than usual. It almost felt sacred, to let someone into you and trust them not to wreck your body to pieces, to let a part of them merge with yours, to become one spiritually. Heimo knew that Lu Yizhou did it merely to clean the impurity in him, yet the way their spiritual energy tangled together, dancing and moving as one as if they had done this countless times before made Heimo think that he had indeed gone through this, somewhere in a place and time he had no idea of. It was familiar and unfamiliar at the same time, the memory buried within the deepest recess of his mind, held tight by a barrier he couldn’t seem to break.
It might be their previous lifetime, Heimo’s mind wandered. Him and Lu Yizhou, doing the same kind of thing all over again. Just imagining that they had once done what they did now spread happiness all over Heimo’s heart.
