Chapter 91 - 3.31 Ultimate Match
"Ahhh! Look! He’s up there!"
The atmosphere instantly shifted as soon as the people noticed Lu Yizhou who was standing on the edge of the rooftop building, the hem of his shirt billowing against the wind. The sunlight served as a backdrop to his spiral horns and wide, breathtaking wings. Despite merely standing there, it was as if people could sense the power and commanding aura that he exuded.
Oliver found himself unable to take his eyes away—like how it had always been—when the Alpha took off surging up to the sky before diving straight on to the stage, landing perfectly with grace. His wings folded as his eyes landed on Ryan who stared at him with a sneer. "Show off," he mouthed, to which Lu Yizhou responded with only a slight movement of his raising brow.
Instead, he turned his head, eyes parting through the crowd until they landed on the wide-eyed Oliver.
Oliver swore that his breathing abruptly ceased. The two of them were locked in a heated moment, neither was willing to break eye contact first. The cheers and hollers all around faded to nothing and for a split second, it was as if they were the only two people in the whole world. Oliver greedily took in his figure, his silver eyes which told volumes, so bright and piercing like the sharpest spear made of steel. They spoke to him in a silent tune, and once again Oliver was reminded of the words he said a few days ago.
I will return victorious and present the glory to you.
Altair had promised. He said he would win. This was the time, Oliver thought, this match would be the one that decided everything.
"Please take your position, Altair and Ryan. Guys, are you ready?!" Amidst the thundering screams, the MC spoke louder, almost shouting into the mic. "The showdown match to decide the winner for Arena Fighting will start in three...two...one!!!" He swung his hand down and the bell buzzed sharply. The timer started to count the time.
When the MC had just counted to one, Ryan had moved as swift as wind with the ferocity enough to kill, lunging forward to where Lu Yizhou stood with hands wrapped in white bandages hanging by his side. He was fast, faster than any matches he had gone through before. Sharp intake of breaths and gasps were heard from the crowd as his attack induced wind gale, the dust and sand spiralled obstructing the sight as powerful waves of pheromones swiped through the air. The metal ring rattled and the protective shield was turned on to contain the pheromones within. Still, everyone who was witnessing the fight vividly felt how intense it was.
