Chapter 86 - 3.26 Wait For Me

Lu Yizhou sensed the omega’s presence before he saw him. And when he turned into the corner, there Oliver was, leaning against the wall of the empty hallway, head hanging low. Lu Yizhou’s breath stuttered for a second. He had no idea whether it was because he hadn’t seen Oliver for more than a week or because he could only satisfy his craving through the continuous dirty dreams, but the omega looked more radiant and exquisite than Lu Yizhou remembered him to be. He had always been beautiful but this time, he successfully punched the breath out of Lu Yizhou’s lungs. His heart skipped for a split second before it proceeded to drum rapidly like bouts of thunder. For the first time ever, Lu Yizhou vividly understood how a hormonal teenager felt when faced with their crush.

Oliver shifted from one foot to another, a clear sign of his discomfort and Lu Yizhou promptly snapped out of his stupor. After being astounded for a moment, what came next was apprehension. The building—albeit it was free of access—was surrounded by scents of multiple Alphas. Oliver rubbed the back of his neck and the corner of his eyes inadvertently caught sight of Lu Yizhou’s shoes. He whipped his head up and his whole person brightened visibly up to every strand of his hair, radiating happiness. His long black tail swished back and forth in rapid succession and Lu Yizhou even had the mental image that he would start to hop in place anytime soon. "Altair!"

Before Lu Yizhou could think—no, hell, he wasn’t even thinking anymore—he had closed the distance in a few long strides and brought the omega into his embrace. A surprise yelp escaped Oliver’s lips before he promptly giggled. That was all it took to melt the tension in Lu Yizhou’s shoulders followed by a bone-crushing relief gushing forth his chest. He felt Oliver snake his arms around his waist, hugging him back as he inhaled deeply into the omega’s pheromones gland. Oliver leaned his weight on Lu Yizhou’s body and he gladly accepted that, hands resting on the curve of his hips and bringing them closer.

"Why don’t you call my communicator?" Lu Yizhou asked in a breathless tone. He grazed his nose over Oliver’s nape to the soft flesh under his ear. His teeth itched and he couldn’t help himself, taking a bite of the cold earlobe. He watched in delight as the fair skin turned into a hue of pink. How adorable. "I can just meet you outside. Isn’t it uncomfortable here?"

Oliver didn’t even try to lie. "En. It stinks so bad." He buried his head into the crook of Lu Yizhou’s neck and sighed in satisfaction. "Now it’s better."

It was just like an invisible palm had just squeezed Lu Yizhou’s heart. How could someone be so adorable? Oliver was cute even when all he did was breathe. With a hand on the small of the omega’s back, Lu Yizhou guided them to the back of the building where it was opposite of where the Arena Fighting was. Fortunately, there wasn’t anyone around. Oliver stretched his waist like the cat he was and took a few deep breaths exaggeratingly. The corner of Lu Yizhou’s lips curled upward without him realizing.

"I don’t want to bother you." Oliver stole a glance before looking away.

Lu Yizhou frowned. He didn’t like how that sentence sounded.

"You know that you are never a bother to me, Oliver." He lifted the omega’s chin and his heart ached as he saw the red veins around Oliver’s eyes and the obvious black circles. It wasn’t there when he left. "Did you not sleep well?" He grazed his thumb under Oliver’s eyelids and the omega leaned closer to his touch, nuzzling into his palm.
