Chapter 71 - 3.11 Until He Dies
Rosemane’s eyes widened in shock. Immense satisfaction filled Oliver, especially as the horse omega shrieked in disbelief. "F—Future bond?!"
"Yeah." The corner of Oliver’s mouth curled into a pompous smile and he leaned his head on Lu Yizhou’s chest in a spoilt manner. "I was just talking about it with Father Emperor. Oh? Could it be...you haven’t known about it yet that’s why you carelessly tried to approach my mate?" He emphasized on the last few words, making Rosemane’s face redden in shame and anger. Oliver knew that it was really unlike himself to spur Rosemane on, to exert dominance over another—he was used to not having anything he could call his own. He didn’t know where he got the courage to do this either but currently, the only thing in his mind was how to instill the fact into her head that Altair belonged to no one else but him.
He discreetly glanced at the close distance between them and felt sourness in his chest. Stupid Altair, what did he get so flirty for? He should have chased Rosemane away from the start!
"Altair is your mate?!" Rosemane stood up abruptly, her face twisted like she had a sudden stomachache. Turning to Lu Yizhou, she pressed for confirmation. "Is that true?!"
Oliver’s heart rose to his throat. W—Why was she so long-winded?! Did she like Altair so much that she couldn’t accept the truth? Damn it! He hadn’t talked to Altair yet and there was still no talk about becoming mates. Oliver’s arms tightened in nervousness as he waited for the Alpha’s answer. Would he deny it or...
A strong arm wrapped around his waist and pulled him closer. He’s so close that Oliver felt his chest vibrate when he spoke and it sent shivers down his spine. "It’s true."
Ba-thump! Oliver’s heart gave a leap. His eyelashes fluttered as he nuzzled his head on Lu Yizhou’s jaw, his long black tail wrapping around the man’s arm coyly, throat purring. The words reverberated in Oliver’s mind again and again and he was overwhelmed with so much happiness that he didn’t even pay Rosemane any heed as she stormed away—whether she wanted to go complain to Father Emperor, Oliver couldn’t afford to care.
Oliver murmured in a quiet voice after making sure that they were finally alone. "I thought I would never see you again. I woke up and you’re nowhere to be found. I couldn’t find you..."
The silver-eyed Alpha glanced down at him and Oliver found that he couldn’t seem to guess what he was thinking about. He had always put on that kind of stoic, impassive face that gave nothing away, even during the heat of the moments when he was pleasuring himself. It made Oliver frustrated and provoked at the same time, he very much wanted to try making Altair show different kinds of expression.
