Chapter 62 - 3.2 Falling Meteor
The villain in this world was Oliver, an Omega prince of the Alaze Kingdom. Upon birth, he showed signs of fragile health and compared to his half siblings who at least had prominent beast marks, he only had slightly unusual slit eyes which wouldn’t be noticeable unless one looked at him closely. That was also why he was deemed unfavourable. The Emperor came to see him only once when he had just been born and his siblings mocked him for looking like a human despite being a royalty.
His Omega father was a commoner and after giving birth to such an unremarkable him, he was immensely disappointed. Furthermore, he was slapped harshly by the fact that his sweet and affectionate Alpha had begun to ignore him. He was abandoned and bullied by the Emperor’s other concubines. It was tragic how blind he was all this time. It was too late by the time he realized that his Alpha, the Emperor, was such a promiscuous man who often charmed Omegas and impregnated them, then throwing them away after bestowing the title of concubines. He wasn’t the first and he wouldn’t be the last either. The official seat of the Empress remained empty.
When Oliver hadn’t even weaned off his milk yet, he committed suicide by biting his tongue because he realized there was no way he could get the Emperor’s affection anymore amongst the charming Omega concubines who would please him every single day.
Little Oliver had no one by his side except for an old nanny who took care of him since birth. Suppressed under his exceptional siblings, he grew up to be a taciturn and detached teenager with low self-esteem.
When he was fifteen, he got his first heat cycle. At that time, he had no one to turn to and could only hide in the school’s storage room by himself. He thought that he would be able to hide until his heat subsided but who could guess that he would bump into the protagonist, Ryan, right in that perilous moment? Unable to resist the onslaught of the Omega’s overwhelming pheromones, Ryan ended up losing control and mated with Oliver right there and then.
Oliver got pregnant soon afterwards.
He was mortified. He went to school without exposing his identity as a Prince and the shameful news of his pregnancy only made it convenient for the Emperor to dispose of him once and for all. He was exiled into a faraway country and on the way there, he miscarried and almost lost his life from the excessive blood loss. His fragile health caused him to be unable to be pregnant ever again. It was a long, bitter journey of self blame and loathing. Oliver grieved for his unborn child but he also wasn’t sure whether he would be able to raise a child by himself. The dilemma almost tore him apart and the already gloomy teenager suffered from severe depression due to the incident.
The lack of his Alpha’s presence by his side made everything worse. Every three months, he would get into heat and no one could appease him except for Ryan but he didn’t even have the courage to show up in front of him—not after the Alpha showed such an apprehensive look after Oliver mustered the courage to break the news of pregnancy to him.
He came to a bitter realization that, just like his Omega father, he was also an unwanted mate.
